BEIJING, March 18 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 jolted Ascension Island Region at 1953 GMT on Tuesday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 10.49 degrees south latitude and 13.09 degrees west longitude. ■
